Liquid Biopsy Biomarkers in HGSOC — Systematic Review & Meta-Analysis
PROSPERO-registered evidence synthesis of circulating biomarkers in high-grade serous ovarian cancer, following a full PRISMA workflow.
Overview
A systematic review and meta-analysis of circulating biomarkers in high-grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSOC), registered with PROSPERO as CRD420261405303. The review assembles and appraises the published evidence on what liquid biopsy can currently measure in HGSOC, and forms the evidence base my doctoral work builds on.
Method
The review follows a full PRISMA workflow:
- Search. A structured PICO-derived boolean strategy over PubMed, frozen at 2,927 records so the search is reproducible and can be re-run or extended without losing the original baseline.
- Screening. Two-stage title/abstract then full-text screening against pre-registered inclusion criteria, with per-criterion decisions recorded rather than a single include/exclude flag.
- Extraction. Structured extraction into a versioned database, so that every number reported downstream traces back to a specific record.
Recording per-criterion decisions is what makes the screening auditable after the fact: among 42 confirmed full-text decisions, 9 were reclassified on review — disagreements that a single include/exclude flag would have absorbed silently.
Status
In progress. The record migration is complete and full-text screening is ongoing; pooled estimates are not reported here until screening and extraction close.
