Homologous recombination Resolution

Resolution

Resolution of recombination intermediates

Short entry. It states only what the cited sources say; it will grow as more sources are read.

Process or outcome

Resolution of recombination intermediates

In synthesis-dependent strand annealing the new strand is displaced and anneals to the other end, which yields non-crossover products. A double Holliday junction can instead be dissolved by the BLM–TOPOIIIα–RMI1/2 complex, giving non-crossovers, or cut by endonucleases, giving crossovers or non-crossovers. Crossovers are suppressed in mitotic cells. [1][2]
