RAD52 homolog

Strand-annealing protein. RAD52-mediated annealing of large regions of homology is key for single-strand annealing. In a human reporter cell line, depleting RAD52 sharply reduced single-strand annealing, and depleting RAD51 or BRCA2 increased it two- to fourfold. Human RAD52 is reported not to stimulate the replacement of RPA by RAD51. [1][2][3]
